My beautiful college town of Charlottesville, Virginia was lit on fire by white supremacists over the weekend, and before I could even absorb the news, I was on the news.
While it is unbelievable to be that some Trump surrogates are still hitting the airwaves and justifying Trump’s actions, or lack thereof, in the aftermath of the neo-Nazi assault on UVA and the larger town of Charlottesville, for me the president had already shown his true colors.
His blatant refusal to denounce the KKK and white supremacists in the face of a national tragedy only reaffirmed that he will never denounce neo-Nazis because he is one of them.
