It has been four years since my PBS To The Contrary debut, which also was my American TV debut, but I have to say that this week’s show was one of my favorites.
We discussed the social safety net under Trump, the Black women NASA scientists of Hidden Figures and more, but my favorite part of the show was taking on the ‘brand’ of feminism Ivanka sells and tries to represent.
It was the perfect opportunity to discuss one of my favorite feminist journalists, Jill Filipovic’s recent piece on Ivanka and Melania’s “plastic feminism.”
