This week on To The Contrary we talked about how UN Women can go about achieving their ambitious goals when funding them is something that is just suggested to member states.

We spoke about how the trend of older women working longer is increasing, but the issue that really haunted me after the show was our conversation about the Flint water crisis.

As a Bangladeshi, you think clean water access, arsenic poisoning are issues of the “Third World.” So it was shocking to hear about how a city in America in 2016 can basically be poisoned for over two years, children poisoned by the city’s water source.

Even more amazing? It was a mom who rang the alarm and finally got people to sit up and take notice.
